Prized Apart: Coming Soon to BBC One

Emma and chum Reggie Yates are getting ready to co-host Prized Apart, BBC One’s brand new, nail-biting Saturday night entertainment show.

Filmed from sunnier shores, the show will feature ten contestants who compete in a range of gruelling challenges. Each week, the losing contestants will be flown back to the UK to face a studio hanger where their loving partners await.

The stay-at-home players must keep their loved ones in the competition by answering a set of questions in a head-to-head round against the other partners.

If they succeed, their loved ones will get back on the runway to continue the game from across the pond.  Talk about jet set!   “Prized Apart will be nail biting, emotional and full of energy," says Emma.

"I'll be there with the partners in the studio as they watch their loved ones go through their hellish challenges in mystery locations abroad. It should be lots of fun to see how far the contestants will go for their loved ones. I can't wait to get stuck in.”

Co-host Reggie says he'll is “thrilled to be a part of such an exciting and fresh show."  "I'll be getting to know the adventurers and will be with them every step of the way as they perform the tough challenges. It's going to be an incredible experience and I can't wait to get started.”

In the first episode, the ten adventurers bid farewell to their loved ones and head to Morocco to face their first challenge - the first team task of the series. Having jumped from a helicopter they are divided into two teams, each of whom must build a raft and race across the water to the mainland.

The losing team then face the survival challenge. To stay in the competition each adventurer must complete the jaw-dropping canyon swing, which means pulling themselves on a wire out over a 200ft deep canyon, summoning the courage to unclip themselves from their seat and swinging over the chasm.

The two adventurers who jump in the quickest time are safely through to next week, while the three contestants who are placed bottom must fly back to the UK, where their studio partners anxiously await the result. The pressure is now on the studio player to keep them both in the competition, by answering a set of general knowledge questions in a head-to-head quiz.

As only two contestants can carry on their adventure, it’s up to the studio players to make sure they answer their questions correctly so that their adventurers get back to Morocco. Sadly for the couple in third place, they are out of the competition. And so it continues until the final episode, where the remaining adventurers and their studio player partners compete to win the life changing prize.
